About Us

The Robo Renegades first started competing in 2020 as a rookie team and have continued to learn and grow to where we are today. The team began with four students and our coach, Scott. Together, we learned all about engineering, robotics, friendship, and comradery. We finished the 2020 season strong, earning the Think Award and making it to the State Championships.

2021 was a very valuable season for us as we learned more about programming and building. We won the Compass Award and took our team to State Championships once again!

2022 was a tough year for us, as our coach, Scott, sadly passed due to COVID. With help from Steampost 26, our team pushed through and made it to the State Championships again. Inspired by gracious professionalism and the giving spirit of coaches and from Steampost 26, and our surrounding schools and communities, lending their advice and service to help our team, we built a good robot and finished the season strong in Scott’s honor.

Last season was was a challenging one for the Renegades. At the beginning of the 2023-2024 CenterStage season we lost 2 members, creating multiple challenges with only 3 remaining members (2 of which were new to FTC). We created a robot that worked well at the State Qualifiers and also won the Think Award, helping us move on to the State Championship.
