Seasons

2024 2025

Before the season started, we worked on adding new team members to our team as well as doing some minor preparations. Once the season was officially announced on September 7th, 2024, we started brainstorming ideas for our robot, by the 28th we had built a working chassis for our robot “Scratchy”, this was our first time putting Scratchy on the field in an official setting, however, at this point in the season we hadn’t gotten a working arm ready in time for the OKC Tinkerfest Scrimmage, resulting in Scratchy being used as a push-bot. eventually we got a working arm and claw on Scratchy by October 26th, which was just in time for our first league meet where we ended up breaking a few wires, despite this, we managed to set a personal best of 49 points. two weeks later we redesigned the claw, for the first of many times, and begun work on an automated mode that was able to park. We also successfully managed to get our first specimen scored on the submersible during teleop! by November 15th we added the ability to climb, for a level-two hang, to the bot allowing us to score 15 points during endgame. However, this unfortunately prevented scratchy from reaching the top basket. Due to this, we shifted our focus to scoring specimens. In between November 15th and December 14th, we made many significant changes to our robot, such as, overhauling the entire code, changing the drive mode from bot centric to field centric, and smoothing the driving and overall controllability. we also updated our claw yet again this time adding the ability to pivot our claw allowing easier specimen scoring. By January 18th, we modified the hang controls to have a failsafe requiring both drivers to hold down the Y button on the two controllers. This gave scratchy back their ability to reach the high basket, as well as, improving our autonomous allowing us to gain higher scores with improved efficiency. On January 25th, our team competed in the Muskogee League Tournament. This was our best event of the season as we finished as the first pick of the finalist alliance and the Think Award winner. After the League Tournament we focused mostly on tuning our autonomous, when not working on that we worked on getting drive practice and improving our portfolio. in between the League Tournament and State Championships we participated in the Super Bowl Sunday scrimmage to hone our skills and get more practice. despite not making it to Worlds we had an incredibly fun time at State Championships, getting 12th place overall, getting a high score of 242 points, and being the best we have ever done at State.
